I must add that I love the concept of "quality years of life". Since lockdowns disproportionately hurt those who are younger, for the sake of those who are overwhelmingly very old and/or sick it would be very interesting, and politically explosive, if a balance sheet were produced using this metric. Most people would be truly horrified when they saw how far into the red it went. This will be BJ's and his cabinet's true legacy to this country: but many of them will get a knighthood for it.

Thank you for being honest about the collateral damage, which does make me wonder why you didn't sign the Great Barrington Declaration. Idiots who support lockdowns are a bit like people who won't go to the dentist or who refuse to have a hernia repair. Yes, there's initial pain, but the initial pain is a hell of a lot less than the pain and suffering you will endure for PRETENDING you can avoid any pain. Unfortunately you are still propagating the lie that everyone should be wearing masks. You know damn well that mask wearing for those who have recovered from covid-19 serves no purpose other than to reinforce the lie about there being no immunity, and to scare people. In fact, I suspect that governments would see far more compliance if they made allowance for this. No one is keen to follow nonsensical rules made by a government that they know is lying and cheating. And these immune people could also fill the empty in between seating in theatres and restaurants, thus helping businesses.

Now when I think of Victoria I think of SS soldiers beating the crap out a Jew they have caught not wearing the prescribed armband, with a yellow star on it. There's a joke in New Zealand that goes as follows: "When a Kiwi crosses the ditch the IQ of both countries goes up" With what's now going on in Oz this is looking to be very true.
