One good thing is that from a long term safety point of view this is a technique that has been in use for decades, so one can have more confidence that it won't throw up any nasty surprises. However, the fact remains that for most people covid-19 poses a really tiny risk, and a good percentage of people now have natural immunity. So the only people that really need this vaccine are the 1 in 1000 or so who are at serious risk. I wont' be taking a vaccine, and every parent I've spoken to has been adamant that they won't get their kids vaccinated, and why on earth should they when the covid-19 risk to their kids is negligible? The government's media lapdogs in the BBC tell us that about 75% of people say they will take the vaccine. I'm sure this is a lie, and will be surprised if the uptake is much more than one third.

@markparker5585 If one was 100% certain these vaccines were safe then Big Parma wouldn't have been indemnified! Do you honestly expect any decent parent to put their child at risk for the sake of a few people over 80 who have already lived a damn good life? Get real!
