Of course Putin wants to destroy Ukraine. Several of it's neighbours probably want to greatly loosen relations with Russia, and several regions really would like to leave the Russian Federation. One of the reasons Putin is doing all this to Ukraine is in the hope of frightening them. Of course, what they need to realise is that with Russia now so weak there has never been a better time to make a bid for freedom: especially if they all do it together.
