Many years ago I enjoyed quite a few great holidays in the US, and have wonderful memories of them. I also really enjoyed working for an American company in the UK. But let's tell it as it now is. For at least 20 years the US has treated foreigners living (and paying their taxes) there like shit. My impression is that, at least in the UK, Americans receive vastly better treatment. The way a green card ties you to a company is tantamount to slavery. And I can't help wondering how many people on enterprise visas are now going to be booted out of the US, even though it was government lockdowns that caused their businesses to fail.

@jamessquare Sorry, you are right, and I should have spent a bit longer remembering how things work. It's the H1B visa that ties one to the company. And then it's the company that has to apply for a person's green card (unless they get married). Hopefully I've now got it right.
