  1. The thing is that an awful lot of those that have gone to the meat grinder were hardened criminals from Russia's jails. Most of what Putin has done is fairly insane, but this was pretty shrewd. Let's be honest. Most of us would welcome being able to empty our packed prisons of their violent inmates by using them as cannon fodder.
