Actually, often detecting a few fragments of the virus in a person does not mean they have covid-19. Their immune system might destroy them within a few hours, or they might even be what's left after the virus has already been destroyed.

Tim, we really do need to distinguish between positive PCR tests and infections, especially among those how have been vaccinated or previously had covid-19. Immunity is not like the shields on the starship Enterprise. The immune system doesn't do it's thing until virus particles enter the body. Those of us with a decent scientific background know how exquisitely sensitive the PCR test is. There's a very good chance that many of these so-called infections are either just a few viral particles that the immune system is going to zap in the next few hours, or just fragments of viral particles that have already been destroyed by the immune system. Ignorant people don't understand this. The PCR test, used in this way detects fragments, not whole genomes. Many scientists have questioned the validity of using it in this way. Our whole reporting system seems deliberately rigged to grossly overestimate the number of covid-19 cases, in order to frighten people, and support restrictions on their freedom. If one multiplies the number of infections to date by the well accepted IFR of 0.3% then the number of expected deaths is around an order of magnitude lower than those reported by the 28 day rule. If one chooses to work instead with the excess death figure one still only ends up with around 1/4 of the deaths we are told have happened. Reporting of both infections and deaths is simply not credible!
