  1. These Ukrainian forces don't have the option of surrender. It would be like surrendering to Ramsay Bolton in Game of Thrones. Better a quick clean death on the battlefield than giving oneself up to be tortured to death. Let us never forget how the Russians once butchered 22,000 Polish officers. Times may have changed, but Putin and this Russian army haven't!
