@gozer33 She felt she needed to be "nice" because the question of possible promiscuity was relevant to what had potentially happened to her. Ie if she was in the habit of sneaking about with other men, this might have hinted at a potential explanation of her whereabouts. To wit: Q. Do you think she's been abducted? A. I think thats highly unlikely! Q. Do you think she's buggered off somewhere with a bloke? A. I think that's eminently possible! (Whoops! I shouldn't say that should I?! I mean, yes, she's very promiscuous...but I don't want to straight out SAY she's promiscuous. I mean we are friends and all!) Don't be dense. It doesn't suit you.

@gozer33 I don't think it was said like that. It was more a 'nice' way of saying she believed her to be fairly promiscuous without actually saying that. So they were actually being kind to her rather than judgmental/scathing. She was receiving a kindness even then rather than being looked down on. Women get exceptionally preferential treatment by and large, not discriminatory treatment.

@jomoland That's why she was into him. He was a grandiose liar and she was into his lies as it sounded like a sweet life. He was "moving to" his Space X job and she was following him without a clue or a job of her own because she perceived a personal benefit in it. When you go through life like that; being emotional, hugging soft toys, asking for pinky promises and clinging to some lunatic's coat tails because they talk a good game-all rather than taking personal responsibility as an adult-you end up making some stupid decisions. She's far from adorable, she's a vapid, covetous moron that's deeply lacking in conscientiousness.

@monikanikolova1099 That's something a defence lawyer would probably have got an acquittal for however, prior to the DNA advancements. Very powerful evidence for the defence and any charging decision at the time would probably have meant he walked free. Criticism of the investigation is valid but it's important to see it in it's proper context.

This would probably never even reached trial if the roles were reversed. The tweets/texts etc alone-if they'd been authored by a man-would have resulted in him being regarded as an abusive and controlling partner.
