When you say Maradona "won" the '86 World Cup, that needs to be SERIOUSLY underscored. You can't neutralise that by saying eg. Paul Pogo won a World Cup too. Maradona WON the World Cup in '86. Not Argentina. Maradona. One man. The only player to come even close to that since was Roberto Baggio in '94.
Additionally, Maradona then got a (frankly awful) Argentina team to the '90 WC final. Even coked out of his mind he had an impact at WC '94 before being sent home, high as a kite.
When Maradona won domestic league titles with Napoli, Maradona won those titles. Not Napoli. Napoli were simply not in the business of winning league titles. They hadn't won a league title before Maradona and they haven't since. Barcelona by contrast are an inter generational dynasty who trade titles with Real Madrid.
Also newsflash: Pro footballers play SIGNIFICANTLY more international fixtures in the 2020's than they did in the 1980's. In the 1980's literally the only players to amass upward of 100 caps were 40 year old goalkeepers at the end of their careers. eg Peter Shilton, Pat Jennings etc
In terms of professionalism as an athlete, longevity, playing in a more sanitised and protected era (and just not being a massive coke head) absolutely: Messi wins by every metric.
To summarise, if you want to know which of the two wins you a top level football trophy, you must look out of the window and consider the weather conditions:
Messi wins with the wind at his back.
Maradona wins facing into a gale force wind, coked up to his eyeballs.
