When you heard Mary Parkinson try to get them indulging in how :"hard it was for women" (the sort of narrative you hear on things like Loose Women)...that Yorkshire lady shut her down sharpish. Those women knew the truth. Her husband worked down the mine. That was hard. The other lady's brother died being shelled by Germans. THAT was hard. Having to get Christmas dinner ready?! Not so hard by comparison. It would have been an insult to those men to have indulged in the sort of talk Mary Parkinson was angling for there. Well done! We need more of this sort of thinking nowadays. We hear nothing but victimhood and oppression from modern women. They don't know how privileged they are.
