You're saying that to cover 3.8 million km^2 requires 16 trillion small shades, that means each one would be only 49cm to a side - you'd need 4x of them to cover a single square meter. (even "launching 1 million at a time" would only act as a 550m diameter shade) That's... rediculous. We have already successfully launched multiple experimental solar sails - all much bigger than that - made of thin reflective film that unrolls to it's full size after deployment. As an example of typical experimental sizes: Znamya 2 was around 300 m^2. Since they're so light-weight & stow well, it's thought that they could unroll to many kilometers across. You'd need a few thousand big solar sails (not trillions). It might take less than 100 launches, perhaps much less. Doable.
