Its not illegal tho to copy a patent across international borders. Patent law only applies within the country it was patented . There is no such thing as an international patent, you have to make individual patents in every separate country if you want to do that.

Its really doing my head in that you had to explain that there are reasons other than $ profit for a state to build infrastructure for its population. I thought this was kinda... bleeding obvious? That's what goverments do - it is literally their purpose - we pay taxes to them and they use that money to do these things for the common good. Are your audience all Ferengi or something?
