it's easy to say that when these things don't effect you, you are a man yes?

There's a hiding-unicorn on the stage. The only reason you can't see it is because it's a hiding unicorn and that's what they do. But it's there. It's always there. Somewhere. This morning i looked in my bowl of cereal, and i coudn't see a hiding-unicorn in it, this is evidence that it was indeed there. Somewhere. The evidence that hiding-unicorns exist, is when you can't see them. That's how you know they are there, hiding. There's never not a hiding-unicorn, every atom contains hiding unicorns, they are always there. There is no way to disprove my hypothesies, i will always believe.

It's interesting how she talks about ALTERNATE INTERPRETATIONS of the scriptures, this is a topic i don't hear much about with regard to the Muslim faith. Indeed i didn't even think it was a thing. Unrelenting dogmatism has always seemed, to me at least, to be one of Islam's most recognisable characters, and it sadly makes it quite ugly to me as an outsider. I'd really love to adopt a different viewpoint on this though, and now that i see that an alternate viewpoint exists it's actually quite exciting! Can we hear more in this vein? Anyone have any recommendations? thx

Well this is ironic. You are refusing to watch a video ABOUT dogmatic biggotry in Islam, because of your OWN dogmatic biggotry concerning Islam. LOL, i guess it's like a "Howto Read" book: The illiterate people who need it can't actually make use of it, because they need to be able to read it to be able to make use of it! This video was made for you dude.

Even defining what "virginity" is and isn't, is troublesome. Does it include mutual masturbation? solo masturbation with incredibly complex sex-toys as to almost be having sex with a robot? Any sex that tears the hymen? So if the hymen is properly stretched beforehand so it doesn't rip during sex - you're not actually having sex? arjkghasdkjasdl;fjk It's such a stupid concept, like counting angels on the head of a pin, what's the point.

She's not a Christian you idiot

tamyboy1 You talk about "true teachings" as if you have a monopoly on that. But the truth of the matter is that there are multiple interpretations, every sect claims that their interpretation is the one single truth, they can't all be right, and if there were an easy way of telling which of them is right* then there wouldn't even be different sects in the first place! (assuming any of them are right). Read a book.

MrAndrew9731 You talk about morals as if they were absolute, as if the word means the same thing to others as it does to you. But in reality "morals" are relative to your own culture, ideology and personal taste. To judge someone else based on your own moral values is idiotic. The assertion of absolute morals can at least be somewhat logically justified by those claiming supernatural origin for their moral framework - but what's your sad excuse? All you're asserting is that others should live as you do, that your sense of moral right & wrong are best. But why would anyone be so arrogant as to think this? Do you think you have some kindof authority on these matters, that you can tell other people that the way you live your life is better than the way they live theirs? Dunning-Kruger much? And we're all still waiting for your explanation backing up your outof-the-blue assertion that premarital sex is bad. I'm particularly looking forward to your attempt to first provide a universal definition of marriage.

Hmm, i thought she explained it perfectly adequately. Her points were that these cultures are so fucked up that women actually need to get doctors' certificates to prove they are virgins, and that sex education in these cultures is so poor that these certificates actually work to ward-off public ire. Both points are highly embarasing, this was her goal, she was justifiably shaming these cultures. She then went on to how it can be better. It's classic rhetorical technique, you first show the audience the scope of the problem, justifying the need for intervention, then suggest some suitable interventions (and/or explain the interventions you are already enacting).
