Fossil fuel cars don't have 1000km range either. This is why Australia doesn't have cars. Yep

You mean your vw passat with a reserve tank fitted. Let alone EVs for a tick, i'm curious what your thoughts are about practically every other fossil-fuel car having half that range? Do you complain that fossil cars are "not good enough" too? ps: i remember once reading a prediction that EV battery range will plateau at ~1000km. As battery tech continues getting better from there - they'll likely just reduce the amount of space the battery takes up in the car, opting for the same range but less weight/size. Tho for situations like yours where you may need a reserve tank, i guess you could simply add a reserve battery instead.

Or trying to find somewhere to buy gasoline.

Do you think there's only a couple of superchargers in Australia or something? heehee. Look it up mate

a 100% charge would not be required, due to the multiple superchargers along the route. Look it up & see how many there already are so far. PS: are you honestly going to drive 900km non-stop with only a 5 minute break to eat & use a toilet? Get real. I'm not sure how it works for other car companies, i'd hesitate to deal with them coz prettymuch all of them still have their thumbs up their arse, & tho some say they're serious about EVs - their actions continue to show otherwise IMO.

can you remind me how many hours that took?

Hmm i don't think these newfangled "fossil cars" will ever catch on until they can match the meal-eating & toilet utilisation allowed by electric cars. It's just not reasonable to expect a driver to not eat or use a toilet for 9 hours at a time. Sure the early adopters might be willing to do it, but most drivers out there are quite attached to their digestive tracts 😎
