@aliceastvats2644 I think the Queen is a PR machine and liked Meghan for what she brought to the Royal Family (she is not the first mixed race royal). She is likely upset that Meghan has convinced Harry that The Firm does not come first. They are all raised with "duty first" as their motto. Meghan knew this going in, but clearly didn't understand the reality of it and now wants out. It doesn't work that way. And another divorced American yet?? Wallis is the reason she is even on the throne. As an American I am embarrassed that Meghan couldn't try to find a way to stay the course of what she signed up for and threw in the towel so quickly. It is NOT a private matter.

@jjboyd01 She is NOT from Crenshaw or Compton. She is a valley girl. And homes in Compton can sometimes be even more expensive than the valley, but I still don't drive around in Compton without my door locked! Who am I kidding? I don't drive through there at all!

And we all know Megan grew up over the hill. That one stupid "Straight Outta Compton" article that came out when they started dating was so ridiculous and people still believe it. About as insane as LA real estate!

@aliceastvats2644 Sorry--I am not sure I am following your train of thought...but regardless, Harry never really stood a chance of actually sitting on the throne. So his wife becoming Queen is irrelevant. And even if she ever did, she would not be the first woman of color with the title of HRH in England. Being a divorcee is more of a problem than her race (with being American a close second). Way to reminiscent of Wallis. Which is still very painful for the Queen. She never got over that and probably hates the reminder.

She changed jobs (think of it that way), and as a driven, successful independent woman, I don't think she enjoyed all the baggage her "new position" carried with it. Unfortunately she married someone who cannot just turn his back on his job, which he was born into. And $30 mil is not enough to support their lifestyle, especially since she seems to display signs of postpartum, along with his fear of the media, so the security alone will cost them tremendously. Look at Fergie and what she had to go through. It was worse than what Meghan has endured. Look at Wallis and how that turned out. It is not the first time the Queen has had to contend with a troublesome spouse and the fallout within in the royal family. The Queen is a rockstar and will hopefully, as head of the Firm, set them straight, however it turns out. I wish HER the best of luck through this all since H + M seem to just want to have their cake and eat it too, yet the Queen is the one who will have to clean up the mess AND do the dishes!

Every woman has a mind of their own. That should not seem refreshing in 2020. How they put it to use is another story.

@BaddieKyTV Not sure if you were joking, but if you weren't, also look up Wallis Simpson (basically the reason why the Queen ended up on the throne, especially so young). Look up Fergie, who got way worse press than Meghan ever did. And look up Queen Charlotte and the fact that Meghan is not the first mixed-race Royal in the British Family.

@AAO-92 He was not isolated for the rest of his life. He was ostracized. The Duke made his choice, blinded by love, not thinking things would turn out as they did, but Wallis was by his side his entire life (did she have a choice at that point?). Their biggest sore spot was that she was never given an HRH. However they were still given a very generous allowance and never had to work. Even though David even wanted to at many points later on, yet he had to ask permission just to be let back into the country. And because of them, the Queen's entire life and destiny changed and she became one of England's longest reigning and most admired Queens in history. Yet I am sure she still remembers the events very clearly and this must all be very painful for her.

@mariewilliams8859 But isn't that now the point? If they move to Canada permanently, then Britain will be able to draw funds from Canada. He can't just stop being part of the RF. So who will end up footing the bill?

Platform for Change Camilla was his distraction from the day they met. At what point in time should Charles have been protecting Diana? Because he certainly didn't seem to have done a good job when she was an innocent 20 year old girl and all of a sudden thrown into a world that ultimately was her demise.
