  1. These are just frivolous lawsuits in order to try and cash in. If awarded a sum or offered a settlement, it will only increase the cost of Healthcare in this country for all of us! If she truly just wanted doctors to "stop talking this way", then she would not sue. And I wonder, when she is for example, in the kitchen with family or friends, or shopping with them, or rides the elevator with a coworker, and they make a snarky comment to one another about someone thinking they will never find out, is that also inappropriate? And they were not making a racist comment, they were body shaming her. That was clear. Precious was fat and happened to be black. Just as this patient happened to be black. Less important to her doctors than her weight, which affects so many other aspects of her health, and in that room at that moment, her surgery. Her color does not.
