  3. Umm, I am sorry, but if you think that you are either remembering it incorrectly or are not a big history buff. The fact that Kennedy was Catholic was a HUGE issue. For all the Kennedys back in the 60's. And the only reason he won was because it was the first televised debate as TV's were "new", and he was much better looking and far more charming than Nixon. Without TV and that debate, he likely would have lost.

  7. I don't know how she does it! I just spent 12 hrs watching the hearings and she smiled only a handful of times, but honestly did not even flinch once otherwise. Even during Harris, Blumenthal, Hirono. It was astounding. If she can do that, she can overlook anything.

  8.  @joyhock190  Thanks, but I still do not, however, share the same beliefs you do. I respect the fact that you believe what you believe, just as I respect those who choose to believe nothing. But I also like peoplewho are true to their faith, whatever it may be. Just as I think those who claim to be atheists are not being honest (hence my earlier post). Especially as many of them don't even know the difference between atheists and agnostics anymore. But those are 2 separate and individual beliefs of mine. Many lump them together unfortunately.

  13.  Rose Algren  Not true. It is so bad in some places that kids are afraid to make their religion public. Not the way we should be living in 2020 America. I actually just said to my husband the other day, I feel like we are in 1938 Germany! That is a sad statement.

But let's put that aside for a moment. You honestly think you would just sit there calmly saying "this is it?" You give up that easily?? After you have gotten married and had a few kids, then think about this question. I am pretty sure "that sucks" will not be the last words on your lips.

I just spent (wasted, lol) an hour of my day answering crazy responses to posts, etc. My husband and kids laugh at me and say why do you bother?? I tell them, for the same reason I call my congressman when I have something to say--if I can change one mind in my lifetime, I have done something good for the world (IMHO). And you never know which post, or which phone call, will be the one to get someone to think about the other pov! We all have to at least try and do our part! Have a great day!!

  20.  @two-edged777  LOL, nope. Because as you know, it does not state that in the Bible. As a practicing orthodox Jew of almost half a century, I am pretty set in my ways. And it is my understanding that you need our messiah to come before you get to see yours? Hence evangelicals Christians being the largest group of supporters of AIPAC and Israel (and then come the Jews). And we thank you for it!

  22.  @two-edged777  The way we study things may be different but when you break it down it is very simple. My Bible is (only) the Old Testament whereas you have the Old and the New. There is no mention of Jesus in the Old Testament, so he is not something we study. And it was the Romans who crucified people. Lots and lots of them, including all the Jews they killed. It was their idea of a slow and torturous death. That is a fairly well known fact, and especially when you study it from a historical perspective and not a religious one (where the Christians seem to want to have made the Jews the villains over many years), it is an undisputed fact.
