  8. Huh? This is Hunter's mess that he got himself into, but with his father's help. Hunter is not covering for Biden's actions. There were witnesses who came out to spell it out to everyone. Hunter sold access to his father. And got him an office and keys. But Hunter instigated it. I doubt it was Joe's idea. Now he is just protecting his son.

They do, however, give out the leftovers each night from the people who did not show up for their appointment to any "stand-by's" who are waiting, so the vaccines don't go to waste. Which we should have been doing from the start! My daughter sat and waited for quite a few nights to get a leftover at the clinic, before her appt date came up, in order to get her vaccine sooner.

My daughter waited (out in the cold!) for quite a few nights by her school in Emek Refaim (J'salem) until her appointment date came up and then she got her vaccine. Still MUCH better than here in California. And my son, in Bet Shemesh, just wanted to get Corona around Rosh Hashana time, so he could get a letter and travel around more freely. Especially for sukkot. But he didn't get it and has to spend chofesh at school....and soon we will have another Chag with very few people at our table again...hopefully by you it will be better. And I can't get into the country to visit. 😔. L'shana haba b'Yerushalayim (aval, b'emet!!)!!!!

  19. I just found out last night that my kids who are going to school, are sitting in class and learning, BUT THE TEACHERS ARE HOME ON ZOOM!! They won't come in and teach so they are the ones home zooming in! That doesn't sit right with me. (Side note--it is $40K a year a kid!)

And let's not forget what went on with all those cruises and infected passengers a year ago. No one wants to see a repeat of that. Especially when there is now a simple solution to avoid it.

  27.  @kingpin76110  I will disregard the petty insults just because I would love more clarification on which of Hunter's escapades you are referring to exactly. The money from the Mayor of Moscow? The board seat on a company in a field that he has zero experience in? The office space he shares with a Chinese businessman that he asked for keys to be made to for his parents? We don't know how to guess how a lot of it came to be. Bobulinski was a pretty convincing witness, who spelled it out for everyone, even before it was made public the the FBI had already been investigating the laptop. Joe is shady, but he is not nearly as stupid as Hunter (who else allows someone to take a picture with a crack pipe hanging out of their mouth). Anything illegal that Joe did do, I am sure that he would try to make sure he covered his tracks. And certainly would not throw his own kid under the bus. I am sure we will learn that Hunter, as Bobulinski said, is responsible for creating his own misery. Which he has already proven he is quite good at.

  30.  @violetgibson9  It is so funny how home schooling used to be such a big joke 10-20 years ago. And the past 10-15 years, as it became more popular and more common (I won't say acceptable bc we still make jokes about the kids who were home schooled), as well as more developed as far as the programming goes, all of a sudden the entire universe lives in a world where home schooling is not only acceptable, but has been practically mandatory. I am sure once the schools all open back up safely across the board, things will go back to "normal", but I do think there will be many more kids who continue to be home schooled (but properly). It will be interesting to see. Especially when we look back in 10 and 20 years from now.

Even if you don't have kids yet--let's pretend you do... I assume that you are teaching them to be good, upstanding citizens--don't discriminate against others, treat everyone as you want to be treated, be kind, etc. (the basics)... right? And again, I am just curious, but where do you draw the line? Is it ok to be honest about how you feel and tell your kids, "No, you can't go play at Tommy's house, because his parents are Republicans and voted for Trump. They watch Fox, so you can't have a play date at their house." Or do you just say no and make up a story as to why he can't go to Tommy's house? Or do you say "Hey, why doesn't Tommy come here? And then you play CNN in the house and over snacks,, tell him all about climate change?" Honest question!

  33.  @Luaxon  I will admit that it is annoying to watch tourists yell at people in English even louder hoping that they will understand. Although English has become the English standard... I am very glad I am good at languages. They are so fun! Quick story, we took my 4 kids to Italy, sat down to eat something and and I ordered in Italian. The waiter leaves and my son says "Now you speak Italian too?? I just shrugged. (I only took one year of it, so I don't count it as one of the 5 languages I speak). I can order and get directions, but it was still amusing!

While, in Judaism, there are some prayers one can say alone, the are many, some being the more "important" than others, in which one needs a minyan--a quorum of 10 men. Such as Kaddish (the prayer for the dead), which one can ONLY say with a minyan, but is also required to recite it 3x a day for the first year after a family member passes.

And even worse, if you pay a ton in taxes bc of where you live, but you don't use the school in your district, then you are paying even more for nothing. That is why we need school vouchers!

Before the green card, they were giving out letters to those who had already had Covid so they could move about more freely around the country. This has been going on for more that 6 months already and the system is working for them.   45. You are 100% correct! Some of my staff called in "sick" after the holiday weekends, but bc of their "symptoms" we had to test and quarantine a bunch of staff. They didn't get paid bc they used up all their Cares Act money already. We lost money bc we were so short staffed for 2 weeks. All bc they were hungover and wanted an extra day off, of wanted a long Xmas weekend. But then we saw that they were dumb enough to post pics of themselves partying it up on Insta! Twice! People are so dumb!

Their tax dollars would help pay for public schools, and other things that benefit society (while they get a tax write off). Smart idea! It goes beyond whether or not student debt should be paid off (it shouldn't), bc there is another question at hand--many play the shell game with their debt. Especially now. Just bc someone owes Student debt and they want to "pay it off" (with other people's money), how can one prove that the $50K is going exclusively to student loans? It is impossible to prove. Having spent many years on the financial aid committee of a private school, I can assure you that paying off student loans is not only a bad idea, an unfair idea, and an unpopular idea--it will be detrimental to those receiving it. .any of those in debt are in debt bc they never learned how to manage money. To them, they will see it as just having won the lottery! And will continue to be irresponsible about it. How does that help anyone?
