@Liverpool 11 Depending on where one lives, and how many kids they have, $400K is not a lot of money. After take home, if one has a few kids in college, they are far from wealthy. It was a very arbitrary number that Biden chose, and there are still plenty of legal tax loopholes that one can, and should, take advantage of in order to keep as much of their salary as they can. It is too much to get any financial aid for education, etc., yet too little to live comfortably.

@chris taber I don't mean to intrude on whatever is going on here, and clearly there must be some history I am unaware of which is spurring on these insults being tossed about...but I have a fairly basic question--what is viewed as the general definition of "rich?" And I don't mean "the top 1%", I am looking for a number. Biden has thrown $400K out as a number (but hasn't said anything about qualifying things such as where the person lives, their cost of living expenses, how many dependants...), so that too is a meaningless number.
