  1. I just got new neighbors. My daughter baked cookies and we brought them over with a bottle of wine in a lovely gift basket. We chatted for almost an hour and then somehow the capital riot came up and we both discussed how awful it was. But I then let her know--as I felt I should--that most of the people on the block were Republicans and/or Trump supporters. The look of shock on her face was a little unsettling. She made me feel uncomfortable for saying it, but I just wanted her to be aware so she didn't just assume--as most ppl do--that everyone on the block was a Biden supporter. I was so uncomfortable I started to point out the few ppl I knew who were staunch Democrats (all of 3 houses). And she still just stared at me in disbelief. When will ppl understand that Trump did get atleast 70-74 million votes? And that at some point, they will encounter some of them anywhere, anytime, and we may not have Maga hats on or Confederate flags on our lawn. We didn't just get back from DC on Jan 7th. We live on a block of mainly business owners, doctors, lawyers, etc. and we don't want our taxes to go up. Or pay for insurance for people are here illegally, and we really just didn't want Biden for President! Welcome to the neighborhood!
