@rstuv8141 Social disobedience falls under force majeure. As long as your business is locked (and alarm is on if you have one), it is covered under any good policy.

@nwsportstilidie The looters are not oppressed. There is nothing that gives them the right to trash businesses, steal their inventory and set the place on fire. Nothing at all!

@nwsportstilidie There were 4 policeman who committed a heinous crime. The are the exception, not the rule. And it happened in Minneapolis. Not here in LA where we have a 4pm curfew and have to stay locked up in fear while these imbeciles come out at night, after the peaceful protests, to loot and riot our city. In the middle of a pandemic no less.

@nwsportstilidie let's see if you still feel that way when they steal from your home or business and then burn it down!

@dropout0110 The protesters all followed the law and went home by curfew. Then the rioters came out and trashed the city. Last night was horrible and now it seems we are in for a repeat of yesterday!

@T1000Iris right now, in this climate, they are all afraid to do anything. Last night in LA was a mess. Hopefully with the National Guard here tonight we will see less chaos and more arrests. Even though they don't want to crowd the jails bc of Covid.

@rstuv8141 Ask your wife to explain what comes under the social (or civic in some clauses) disobedience in force majeure clauses and how that would apply to such a case.

@nwsportstilidie I believe there is always a bad, corrupt apple in every bunch. However I do not hold entire groups accountable for one person's stupid misconduct.

@T1000Iris I wasn't here in 92. But I did hear that they were just rioting again in Rancho Cucamonga. What's up with that place that causes people to break out into riots every time?

@rstuv8141 Yesterday I called and checked our policy as there was a protest scheduled for our area. Luckily, we are covered! But thank you for bringing it up bc I heard the same thing from a second source which made me call to verify. Thanks again!

@rstuv8141 Thanks! Yes, I was speaking about business insurance. Our agent (the one I had contacted) actually just emailed to reach out and see if all was ok (it is, so far). My block got together and hired private security to spend the night on each end of the block Sun and Min nights. They chased off looters Sun night (and it was caught on a few ring cameras). But Mon was quiet. We are hoping LA stays peaceful and goes back to worrying about the coronavirus. Unfortunately in 2 weeks, I am afraid we will see the backlash of these protests in the Covid numbers. Stay safe and healthy!

@rstuv8141 Our block hired 2 armed security guards for 3 nights in a row with one positioned on each end. The first night, two ring videos caught on camera, the guards chasing off two would be looters. The next 2 nights were quiet, but we were all happy to pitch in $50 a night to sleep easily! Hopefully things will be quiet this weekend!
