Interesting video. I think discussing moshavim would add some balance to those who likely do not even know they exist. But the most important part of the video was the last sentence!! We should never, ever, take it for granted!! Next year in Jerusalem!! Stay healthy and Chag Sameach!

@simko8665 I will say that what definitely IS typical kibbutznik style at Lavi is the terrible food in the (depressing) cafetería! I don't know what time of year you stayed there but the prices during the Chagim (holidays) are outrageous!! If you have little kids (and can all fit in one room--we had to leave our luggage in the hallway one time, it was so tight!), one can almost justify the expense (almost!). But with some advance planning, I think there are better options, whether up north, or by the Dead Sea or Eilat.

EXCELLENT VIDEO!! May I point out another fact that many do not know, or just ignore, is the Balfour Declaration and the roles Britain played in the Jews and the land of Israel (you would explain it better than the small space I have here)! And regarding the Media--during the second Intifada, CNN kept showing a scene of the "Jews attacking the Palestinians on Temple Mount". In the clip, there is a struggle, with a gas station in the background. Does anyone ever recall there being a gas station on Temple Mount??? Nonetheless the world went crazy. That was almost 20 years ago and it has only gotten worse since. But until I can go for pizza or a coffee without security (real security, not American security) checking my bags and person, or know that my 2 oldest who are there this year learning, can go out without a thought for safety, and know that the Palestinians love their children more than they hate us, I know there won't be peace. As it is, knowing ppl who have gone for coffee and ended up in the hospital, or unfortunately, did not survive, I must put it put of my mind while my kids are there or I won't sleep at night (bc they are young and new living there--otherwise I generally feel safe when there). And lastly, UNWRA is the WORST anti-semitic organization in the world! Using the most biased, lying media--they should be ashamed. And defunded!

Kibbutz Lavi I presume? Hardly "a typical kibbutz" (neither in concept or practice). But if you ever go to visit the hotel (it is a resort actually and great for families), be sure to book in the new building (it's worth the astronomical price, relatively speaking).

@simko8665 Do you know what a kibbutz is (or is/was supposed to be?)? Is Lavi the only one you have ever been to? And when you went, did you just go to the hotel for a holiday? I am only asking so I know how to answer your question properly. (Also, if your answers to the questions were No, Yes and Yes, then I would suggest just googling what is the history of the kibbutz, as well as what is a kibbutz (2 different answer in many cases), and that will likely answer your question.

KOL HAKAVOD!! EXCELLENT video! Übrigens, ich verstehe schon dass Du in Berlin gewohnt hast, aber bist Du ursprünglich Deutscher? Oder Deine Frau vielleicht? Berlin ist eine tolle Stadt! Ich war letztes Jahr wieder da--das erstes Mal in fast 30 Jahren. Wahnsinn wie die Stadt in dem letzten 30 Jahren so viel verändert hat! Tja, war nur eine Frage als ich neugierig bin, he he...musst sie nicht antworten wenn es etwas zu persönliches ist...wollte nur wissen. Yalla! Tschüss!
