LOL, I recently started doing that. Either pretend I am old and don't understand computers, or I speak in broken English and German, I try to see how long I can keep them on. Now I am glad--the longer I can keep it going the less calls they can make in a day! There is a special place in hell for these people!

@davidfirth9342 That I would never do. I can't bring myself to use racial slurs ever. To anyone. Even criminals.

@Michael9-23-15 100%! Eventually they start asking "Ma"am, are you playing around with me?" Then I know I am busted and see how long I can drag it out. I wish the US would start cracking down on them. And every number is online when you google it, so there must be thousands of complaints. Very sad!

They discussed that the quarantine should be changed to 24 days (from 14) more than a week ago. Why is it still only 14? They suggested that 24 or 30 days could lead to reexposure. What did they learn that they decided to stay with the number 14? And why are they getting back on the same buses that brought the new bunch who is to be quarantined? Obviously better than an overlap with the second group, but to send them off and out into the general public seems reckless. Even those who feel "fantastic" could be carrying the virus, although not showing signs. Seems counterintuitive as they just studied reexposure and its effects.

@andrewpaino1934 You can if that is what is ordered by the WHO and the quarantine act. The question is why is it 14 days and not 24 days as suggested last week? (And yes, 30 days is random and excessive. But may lead to recontamination) Although I prefer people think that way, than run off to go skiing or go to church as the superspreaders did!

OMG! That is sooo funny!!

j.j.cagney I am guessing you meant polite... I also used to do that, or even try to help them out (if it is a real telemarketer, and not a scammer) by correcting them when they are mispronouncing their script. Once they would just hang up on me, I stopped. So rude!

We purchased a few bottles of aloe vera and isopropyl alcohol to have on hand just in case. It is easy to make even if you "can't cook" and will work well in a pinch.

The segment at the end about veterinary care was unfair and lacked relevant information. Aside from the fact that of course prices vary depending on where one lives, you can't just show two random cats and two different costs for a dental without finding out what the dental entailed. First of all, was there anesthesia involved? And assuming there was, the gold standard of care would then be to make sure that the cat was under, with an open line, and was being properly monitored. Then how bad were the cats teeth and how long did it take to scale and clean the teeth? Were there extractions involved and if so, how many? Dentals can be hundreds of dollars and a vet will always give an estimate before any procedure. To insinuate that veterinarians are "scamming" people without evidence, or even just a basic understanding of the medical side or the business side of the industry or the individual practices mentioned is irresponsible reporting. "I thought it was too expensive" is not the same as "I was scammed by someone who is dishonest!"

ALWAYS google the phone number and then "scam" and "IRS" or whomever they claim to be. It will always come up, along with info on how to report them! Take the few minutes to report the call. Hopefully it will help (one day...)!

@falcon091480 Watch Contagion. Even if you saw it in 2011. It portrays and tracks the movements of the exposed and infected, as well as the CDC's actions and dealing with the economic blowback so well, you feel like you are watching an overview of the past 2 months.

@falcon091480 I am actually looking for other ones. I have always enjoyed them, ever since I traveled to Africa and was very sick 2 weeks after I came back. The CDC got involved and discoveredI had West Nile, but also that I had caught Dengue 7 months earlier in Rio. They tracked back all my movements, and followed up many times after my stay in the hospital. They did such a thorough job, this is all baffling me. Let me know if you can think of any other good ones, thanks!

@falcon091480 Just watched the trailer.... not a huge fan of the zombie apocalypse, lol. And this one looks particularly scary!

Did anyone hear which hotel?

@johnwang9914 No, the WHO did not change it officially to 24 days, however back in news reports dated Feb. 10th and 11th, China was researching and suggesting that 14 days was not enough and was talking about changing it to 24 days. Wile Russia was discussing a 30 day quarantine period. The WHO felt that it would then lead to reexposure, which seems to be why all of the quarantines stayed at 14 days. I have done way more research on this than I would like to, however I don't have a choice, so thank you for your reply as I not only answered my own question, but it reminds me that there are certain stories and timelines that need to be revisited in order to get a better understanding of how each country is handling the situation.

@johnwang9914 I am just quoting the dates on the published stories I read or watched. Again, I don't want to be spending hours each day researching this. Unfortunately I am required to. But again, thank you for pointing out that I misspoke in my original post--I went back and edited 2 of them. Not that anyone should believe or go by what they read in the comments section of YouTube, I don't want to be someone who triggers panic in anyone. It is hard enough to decipher the truth about the news that is coming out of China. I did find the news clip from North Korea entertaining though...

@pip7557 The issue is that there is a fundamental problem with people who think as you do. Quarantine procedures MUST be followed and should not be isolated as people cannot be trusted to self isolate. IF 48 days, for example, were the number (it is not as it can lead to reexposure and/or recontamination), then that is the number. It is not inhumane. It is for everyone's protection. Cutting the quarantine short and not having a family to go home to would be inhumane (and selfish) to the family. And society in general.

And Boeing, for the first time in many years (if not ever), is no longer rated #1 in the world .... Airbus won last year!

A recent study has shown that just by putting your individual air on above you keeps your "personal air space" cleaner and safer (=germ free) that if you didn't.
