And the first night, 2 ring security videos picked up the hired guards chasing away 2 looters at 3:20am! So, we clearly needed to do something to stay safe during the rioting and looting! They are a hugh functioning business. A well oiled machine. And they want the general population to be healthy and happy and moreover, indebted to them.. and afraid of them at the same time. They throw their influence around without hesitation and even the police and their elected officials fear them. Those who work for them and are loyal, good workers, are well taken care of. Like at any company.

  11. I am saddened that Anderson Cooper has reduced his career to the "I hate Trump show." What does he plan to do once the election is over?? No one can ever view him as a reporter again. He is completely biased, doesn't report, just ponders and wonders, and twists words to the point that he puts words in people's mouths... all opinion, no news. I guess they have a talk show host seat they are keeping warm for him.

  13. As Olivia explains, culturally "they were raised to keep their head down and not make waves". The point of Olivia speaking out on CNN and other networks, she is thanking everyone on SM, and the NYPD, for standing up for them and helping them to find the culprit--which they did. I think the reporter was surprised that she didn't want to see the power of the internet and the fact that Sam's mom, and the Asian community in general, does not have to just take it on the chin. After all these years, she will hopefully see all these stories after the fact, and find new hope in humanity. We all need to start viewing things from a positive perspective rather than a negative one (as our parents and grandparents did), in order to move forward, collectively, and spread the word of hope for tomorrow.

  16. I am assuming you mean corrupt. How is she corrupt? She has been working day and night to help the country. Apart from being the consummate professional, especially when posed Gotcha questions, she has been a doctor and a scientist her entire life. Not a politician. Not someone who was looking to be thrust into the spotlight. Yet she has taken on a Herculean task with grace and integrity. Who would you have suggested for her position instead?

  30. Sign them up for homeschooling then. If they are not signed up for something, you run a huge risk of the State coming after you bc your child will be considered a truant and you will be dragged into court and fined (plus what you will have to pay on attorneys fees!).

  33. It is not too early to judge their actions. They clearly don't value human life as much as literally every other country in the world. They should not be given any money from the WHO or any other organization. They have socialized medicine and still didn't take care of their elderly. Did they ask their citizens if they wanted to stay at home and slow the spread? Or if they were all willing to risk their lives in a test to see if herd immunity would work for them? When the mayor of Las Vegas suggested it, CNN's own Anderson Cooper ridiculed her. Yet this guest thinks Sweden "just took another approach." And people wonder why CNN gets blamed for unbalanced reporting!

  35.  @oldepersonne  That may be, however, unfortunately, I am not the one who is going anywhere, as my husband is the head doctor. But after 20 years, I have a pretty good idea of how they handle stress, and they deal with plenty of people who trigger them on a daily basis. That is a huge part of emergency medicine--people are always stressed out, never use a filter, and are usually on their worst behavior. But it is part of our job to take it in stride and handle it. And if they can't, my staff doesn't hesitate to reach out and ask for help. But they would never think that they should be on the news just for doing their job!

  36. @My Random Life Although I don't see this as political. It is a case of right vs. wrong. Good vs. evil. Humanity vs. Brutality. Plain and simple. And that is how I will teach it to my children when we sit down to dinner tonight and discuss it. They are white, privileged teenagers living in one of the most expensive zip codes in the nation (albeit still minorities). I don't want them to see it as political and I agree that the riots devolve the discussion at hand. The riots that occurred take the focus away from the discussion, which is a shame. But it IS a necessary discussion to have as I feel it is my responsibility to raise my 4 children in a way that they will be prepared to venture out into the world with the right perspective. Which brings me back to teaching then right from wrong. And another perfect example is Cooper vs. Cooper.

  38. The evangelicals are the largest supporter of AIPAC, as well as one of the biggest supporters of the RNC. They believe that their destiny is tied to the fate of Israel. Plain and simple. Doesn’t matter who is running. If the candidate doesn't stand with Israel, the Evangelicals don't get his vote. And that is ALOT of votes! Not to mention the right wing Jewish vote, albeit small, but influential and generous with their contributions. It is a win-win package deal!

They are either completely not qualified, can't work the hours (8-6 M-F), want to take 2 weeks off for Xmas to go home, won't accept $20 an hour, or have some other issue (I literally stop listening after the first 2 issues they have). I honestly do not feel that anyone is that desperate. OH! AND...FOUR ppl called in sick this morning! But refuse to get Covid tests (bc they aren't ready sick!)! They are essential workers too!

  43. She is lying through her teeth. I sit on the board of one of my kids 4 kids school and on the PTA of 2 other kids of mine. We are all struggling with the recommendations we have been sent and figuring out, given our space and number of classrooms, the best way to open school, which is plan A. Half open with alternate days with some at home and some on Zoom (then they swap), that is plan B. Or go back to all Zoom classes. The PPE is not the issue. The HEPA filtration systems, the layout for classes, yard, just walking through the halls....that is what we are trying to figure out. There should not be ANY politics in any of this. Why is she making it into a political discussion? Another one who is just part of the problem and not the solution. Total waste of time. She should not be allowed to represent anyone!

Or any more details about what their discussion/decision was about? What would have happened if she had gotten pregnant?   48. That sounds like a terrible idea! Why expose all the grandparents?? Homeschooling does not mean that someone hands the parent a book and curriculum and says, here--you do it. It is a fully designed program with teachers, outings, sports, etc. And it can be done by Zoom.
