@billconservative9503 The CDC said that they found that there are similarities in the makeup of Coronavirus to Ebola, which was helpful to them when trying to identify all the markers. They did, however, say they sent out a bunch of faulty kits and are sending more this week. Trump never said that there was a cure coming soon, etc. By tomorrow Dr. Fauci will correct his statement so that the public can understand that they think they will have a vaccine ready for trials in the coming months (not deployment to the public). After animal trials, human trials, FDA trials, it will take a total of 18 months to complete all those steps and have a vaccine on the market (which in itself is amazing!). Israel too has made huge strides and is helping. This CNN report is solely for Trump bashing.

@billconservative9503 Thank you for your service! (I am the daughter of a Korean war vet=I am old, lol). The weather actually does make a HUGE difference! I currently need a knee surgery, as well as something in my hip area (that I have been putting off due to too much travel!). Went to visit my son in Israel and while the weather is usually like here in SoCal, I was there while it was raining and freezing cold (50 during the day, 30 at night=freezing to me and them). But it was that bone chilling cold we grew up with (I am from NYC). I literally could not walk while there, came home, and after a few days things felt better! It was 100% the weather/moisture. Now I have free time to get everything fixed, but it is a bad time to go to the hospital! Can't get a break!! But AZ was definitely the right move (if you are ever regretting it). Trust me! I am always right...lol!!

@mushewmTip Exactly! And not only did he not say that (he said "it might...or it might get worse first before it gets better, nobody knows". And at the press conference where it was discussed, Dr. Fauci explained why people tend to get the SEASONAL flu in the colder months. It is beyond irritating at this point how everyone jumps on everything they say and politicizes everything--even Dr. Gupta is towing the CNN anti-Trump party line. We can't even get real news anymore because they spend so much time trying to point out Trump's shortcomings! We all know he is not a doctor...
1
@mushewmTip Yup. And with the new continually wasting time discussing what he may have misspoke, rather than focusing on what yesterday's live meeting that is online, is just creating more panic in people and not arming them with the info that the meeting was designed to give people. THAT is what new is for. I am starting to buy into all of his "fake news" claims. If you can call it news...
1
@mushewmTip And whether we like him or not--he is still our President! They should show a little respect. What does that even teach our children about respecting the office of the President and what that stands for?
1
@mushewmTip I agree 100%. And the government and health officials always have to work hand in hand, and it should be based on experience. Not partisanship. I am tired of explaining this to all my friends so they "get it" (but am stuck watching all the news for work). That is what the news is there for. If people want everything editorialized, they can read the opinion page of the paper!

@markulrich3016 I watched the whole thing live. He hasn't lied about anything. "The nerd" people keep referring to above is Dr. Anthony Fauci, head of the CDC, and the person who elaborated and clarified his response to the press. So that the news would get out to the people. Not so CNN could spend 20 mins trash talking Trump. Who is that helping? People need to be educated and armed with knowledge right now. I am starting to buy into his claims of Fake News, as that is what this clip was. And for those who did watch the full press conference, it seems that he crosses his arms when he is listening to along explanation (perhaps so as not to fidget on camera?). It has nothing to do with a temper tantrum or whatever everyone is saying. The world is going crazy and the main news outlets are helping them along!

@eliotno3 "The scientist" is Dr. Anthony Fauci!! Head of the CDC! Not some random guy!

@lisab9541 I assume you mean the Spanish Flu of 1918 (only called that because Spain was first to report it as their government was not censoring the media). That too was found to be (many years later from Eskimo samples that were well preserved due to the Perma frost it was in underground) a swine flu. It originated on a big farm in Kansas.

@eagle PHD All scientists are morons? That is a new one!
1
@valveman12 I have to assume, when I see things like that, that they are individuals (living in mom's basement), obsessed with conspiracy theories and have nothing to do and nowhere to go. So they make up identities online, such as the one that says XYZ, PHD, and then say stupid things like that about ALL scientists... they have nothing better to do (why I answer is a whole other question lol!).... but it happens so often online is what really scares me. Oh! The humanity!
1
@billconservative9503 LOL. Makes me crazy! Especially when we are living in a world where good information is power right now. They can hate Trump as much as they want, but we need real info right now to keep panic low yet people informed. Instead of focusing on what they think he misquoted, talk about what Dt. Fauci and the CDC announced that the people need to hear. They are just part of the problem now. Not helping to educate people or find a solution.

@billconservative9503 And I am usually a big CDC fan (I got Dengue in Rio and West Nile in Africa and my samples had to be sent in, they followed up relentlessly, etc.). But living in California (and now being high risk), I am amazed that we only had 200 faulty kits all last week! We are very behind the 8 ball.
1
@billconservative9503 Yes, unfortunately there is a downside to my much envied life of being the constant world traveler (apart from the constant exhaustion), lol. The CDC is usually so on top of everything--they called my cell day and night until I even stopped answering! (I feel bad about that now!). But they sent out a ton of faulty kits so we are quite behind the 8 ball. You are Canadian (eh?)? Here in California we only had even 200 kits, yet were watching over 8K ppl. Those kits turned out faulty and this week we are due to receive more. But they also changed a federal law allowing each state to do their own testing. That will help immensely.

@billconservative9503 But to answer the question, not sure where they were made. I doubt China. But it doesn't really matter at this point. They have been pretty transparent. But talk about crappy luck...I am 3,000 miles away, yet connected to the 2nd, 3rd (through 6th) cases that were announced in NYC yesterday. Crazy, eh?
1
@billconservative9503 You do say eh a lot though! That is why I pegged you as a Canadian!
