RBG was a legend! She was a force of nature and the Original Boss! However, while it was indeed a dying wish, that is all it was--a wish. And even RBG would have an issue with the Country sidelining the Constitution for someone's dying wish. Even her own.

Not to mention that when the Democratic-Republican party was first founded in the late 1700's by Jefferson, Monroe and Madison (who all had slaves), the party was AGAINST abolishing slavery. Which continued when it became known as just the Democratic party in the 1800's under Jackson and van Buren. The Dems continued to demand slavery in all states and territories, and it was not until Lincoln, a Republican, won the Presidency in 1860 that we started to see real changes. It was the debate over slavery that destroyed the Whig party and gave birth to the anti-slavery Republican party. But most people don't talk about that anymore. How might things change in another 150 years???

@MrDavidBFoster If you think the world still looks the same as it did 50 years ago, especially politically, then I suggest you watch some documentaries on some of the major occurrences and changes over the past half century. It will also help give you some perspective on how those of us who are 50 and over view the world and why.

@bettyannewilkinson8686 The Russia/bounty story has already been disproven. It was all over the news a few says ago.

@izandmc7294 Who waited in line? If they would wait in line, we could get rid of those ridiculous signs on the freeway when approaching SD that warn us not to drive over families running across the 5 (with an absurd image of a family holding hands, dodging traffic and running so fast the smallest child doesn't even have her feet on the ground!). Go through the process legally and then you are welcome to stay. Do it illegally and (get a bad coyote)/do so knowing you may be imprisoned (on our dime) or sent back to your home country.
