  1. I think Lex is searching for the truth and love. He hasn't found it yet, but he is on a way to find it as long as he pays attention to the truth and love as well as grows, develops as a person. He has all he needs to find it, including emotional sensitivity, humility, curiosity, noble character, and a good heart. Not the knowledge but wisdom and love in action. Knowledge without love and truth doesn't give happiness. Thus, he seems unhappy at times. Hero journey as Joseph Campbell described it. We all have to traverse this territory.
