  1. Altered, as for different than everyday ones, states of consciousness are present, for example, in so-called hallucinogenic experiences. The electro- magnetic oscillations of brain waves are so fast that they exceed normal frequency - 40 Hz- and can not be attributed merely to electro-biochemical activities of the synapses. Neurons cannot fire that fast. It is biologically impossible also due to the so-called refractory period in their activity. What phenomena does contribute to it? Mind needs a biological brain to live in biological reality. In biological reality, survival and escaping entropy are the main goals of biological organisms. In a non material reality, the mind might not need the biological brain. Thus, activity of the mind transcends merely biological medium, which is the brain.
