Progess in science & technology is inevitable & brings a lot of benefits and financial gains to the companies which develop it. Let's try to look at new technological inventions in that way: does the fact that something is technologically possible & rightly so brings excitement of innovation, possibility to exercises one's right to chose between self-development & succumbing to one's vices and bad habits, like a choice between compulsive masturbation in front of degrading porn etc.without having a real life/ real, fulfilling relationships & real development in romantic relationship, mean that we as humanity, by the hands of our inventors & visionaries should develop it? Is it ethical ? What ethical code should we apply? Who will implement ethics? Is it needed? Why do we need it? Is it a question of economic security, etc.? In what way is it possible to regulate it? Who will be accountable for future harm? What is this new technology aiming at? All of these questions are philosophical. Does anyone ask these important questions? Not only ask but take it seriously enough. When the atomic bomb was developed, Oppenheimer very strongly opposed the development of the hydrogen bomb. As far as l remember, he was culturally cancelled & that was ideological. He was accused of being Comunist.

  16. Transhumanism is a wrong path. It is a mistake people turn to for sustaining the development of this dominant economic system we are in now. It originated and spans from Reformation & Renessance- "freedom" movement. Wrong turn.There is another way out of it. Not proceeding to so-called transhumanism, technocracy, which, in my opinion, is not possible (transhumanism), degrading to humans & it is a path of deception. It requires integrity & humility, goodness of heart to see it& and correct the trajectory. It is like children playing with fire. It is naive. Some people might be more naive than evil. I trust Lex. Being conscious and critical is important. Light, love, and peace.

  20. I think the real world is much more fascinating & interesting than virtual reality. Real people are so much more alive & interesting than their avatars. Real life is more difficult than virtual life, and real challenges happen in it, like suffering, death, and grief, no matter how much we try to escape from them. What's wrong with real reality for some people that they readily want to inhabit virtual realities? It puzzles me. I don't get it. Imitations aren't real. They are adjustable, multifunctional& exacting realisations of fantasies but who wants to have ever exciting but non real life, an illusion over real life and get addicted to it wasting a real life & not meeting of its challenges, responsibilities & difficulties, which are occasions for growth. Real-life challenges are real & there isn't escape from reality & real feelings, no matter how perfect this thing will become in imitating real life. I don't buy into it. My real life is interesting and challenging enough to choose to resort to virtual escapism & fun.

  24. Ernest Cline "Ready Player One". I think a good book on the topic. Oasis - virtual reality. Or the second episode of the first season of "the Black Mirror." I'm not an enthusiast of conspiracy theories, but this logically is a consequence of a development of the system we live in. Economically and politically. Virtual worlds seem illogical and unnatural, costly, in terms of mental health, societal bonds as atomization will continue but they are very logical from the point of view of "the new era"- technocratic, information technological society. What is morally good? Who knows now? Everything becomes relativistic. Even an ideal of human reason, ability to do good & develop accordingly to his true nature and the free will. All what classical philosophy & then Christianity teaches (also present in Dostoyevsky's novels & philosophy). This antropology is gone. Who takes the responsibility ? No one. Responsibility is gone. Responsibility is scatteted. In social psychology scattered responsibility means no one would react or take responsibility to come to the rescue if there is an anonymous crowd involved in an incident or attack on someone. Anonymous, unconscious crowds & atomization at the same time.

Build a context to ensure it. Certain, specific conditions have to be constructed as "a scaffolding" for it. The uncounscious terror of annihilation, without access to true light, because the order of growth and spiritual development is reversed, side down. Instead trudging towards the beguiling, artificial light. Transhumanism is a dangerous utopia. The Shadow in action. Perhaps because extensive, devastating childhood trauma preceded its development. Until the Shadow process isn't done, everything gets projected outwards. The brutal inner battles take place outwardly. The Shadow is an absence of the real Light. Access to this Light is proceeded by healthy child development when an adult reaches maturity of the reason and can be open to the Light that permeates everything. And this child is not called a monkey, meat bag, machine, commodity.

  30. I think it explains contemporary trends quite well. Social optimization and automation are to lead, among others dynamics, to virtual worlds because this is the nature of this system. It's not necessarily about some great, orchestrated conspiracy against humanity but about the dynamics of the capitalist system in its different stages of a development and the individual and social changes it brings. The approach to the pandemic has brought to fruition the narcissism of the ruling elites and the corruption and profit-seeking of corporate circles. This system simply works in such a way that it cripples humanity on individual & societal levels. It propagates itself in such ways. It is a trap we all fall into & participate in. In such a way, everyone is to blame to have fallen into such a viscious circle, wanting to have a prosperous, safer & better life. It doesn't mean that elites should so extensively abuse the masses & damage people mentally & emotionally to keep this system going on such a large scale.   31. It will not be possible to move human consciousness to the machine. Ontological, antropological presuppositions are false here. There is no equality between different types of "beings." No matter what dangerous & broken people who crave for imortality say . It is a hype, advertisement, and big business here. But also what lurks in the context is a dangerous utopia of transhumanism, which is much more dangerous & and encompassing than these materialistic "toys" because further boundaries will be breached and pushed to achieve utopia, which means total moral degradation of humans & bulling humanity into "the abbys".

I agree, including extremes such as body dysmorphia, body deformations, changing in whatever one wants, suicide promoting, killings, addictions, violence, self-harm, terrorism, bullying, extreme sexual deviations, pedophilia, witchcraft, occultism & stuff like that etc. I know that l mentioned extremes, but human nature can be very dark in certain circumstances. I know it from my work. It's real life, not childlish fantasies & romanticised realities. There are too many dangers. Safeguards? Moral responsibility? Money & fun, learning , control, and data mining shouldn't be everything that has been taken into account in developing this shit.

  35. Thanks for this common sense opinion. Many people, including myself, aren't that familiar with technological details to be able to properly assess new tech products. I try to remind myself that there are always LIMITS because we live within limits in matter/ material world. Perhaps it is another marketing hype like with AI. Good selling techniques 👍. The rule seems to be : What tech engineers would like is not necessarily technically possible. They seem to be out of touch with the reality. We live in a simulation, right ?🙈 Constantly simulating the simulation. Many natural limits can not be exceeded. This is primarily about company shares, marketing, and mass sales. Fairy tales can be told. And besides, people also have their own minds. We are not monkeys.Are we ? 🤔🙊

What people are accustomed to is the easiest solution, instant gratification and availability. But also stronger stimuli, sadly leading some people to addictive behaviours. Thus it's harder to predict what will be the leading factor in turning to this technology. For people who are very disabled & have reduced mobility, maybe it will be a good tool in enabling them to contact the world. I'd be worried to let people suffering with psychotic disorders to use it, though. Pros & cons. Technical difficulties with implementation & customers choices (easy choices in many ways 😉). Many things to be taken into consideration. Does this techn solve real problems of real people rather than causes further damage, e.g.escaping the reality rather than solving real problems also via inner growth and real solutions to real problems. I try to look at how these new tech inventions influence peoples' psyche. I work as psychologist but more in line of helping people in psychotherapy. Partly to reverse "bad influences" we are being thrown into & gladly accepted as civilisation. I see benefits but also harm as l deal with real people & their problems, problems of theirs children etc. Thank you for your really good points. It added to my thinking.

Real self-growth & emotional development in real relationships. People aren't avatars, monkeys, animals or machines, computers, numbers, bags of atoms commodities, thoughtless consumers, utilised objects. Stop treating people in a reductionist way.
