She got to it and out in answers to messages then hid them as they were old messages. I think that is plausible as she hit into everything else and corrupted it to her own ends!

The question that burns me is this, why did the police feel the need to go back to the apartment that night using the excuse of “oh, must be a mix up” I believe they felt something was not quite right so an unannounced visit was in order.
