@Ronnie.D. Some filter out the squids by saying that.

Malls are an expensive time-wasting tedious way to get merch so good riddance, but what really killed them is thugs who wrecked the experience for the remaining people who still cared about going there. The point of living in suburbia is not having to share space with losers who break into your vehicle, rob you and even on a good day are worse than animals. Malls in the US are thug magnets so the more getting repurposed or demolished and replaced the better. Construction is relatively cheap and land valuable. Malls work in disciplined societies like Singapore but do not suit the US where the lower classes are brutish and proud of it.

@matrinezkevin11492 I can confirm having been a mechanic since the late 1970s. Even my 2000 F150 is as capable as my 1976 F250 was stock (it's not stock any more...). Worth noting is no modern truck should be considered "harsh" in ride because they haven't been that in decades.

Most humans are silly herd beasts who prefer not to think. Good for Starbucks cashing in on the inexhaustible supply of silly.

For equipment I bought a commercial grade Andis clipper with a #50 ceramic blade thirty years ago that works fine today. Blades last at least six years used on people and the quality crushes consumer clippers. I use it to shave my head too so it gets many operating hours. Commercial grade clippers are definitely worth buying because they save much more over time than they cost and ceramic blades save even more thanks to low replacement rates. Blade sharpening services exist (or if you own a surface or tool and cutter grinder you can do it yourself but I don't bother).

A SYMBOL? What consumer gives even a fractional turd about anything but the contents? As for plastic in the oceans that comes from countries which do not control their waste management and none of those are in the first world.

Most humans are both silly and unintelligent. in other news water is wet. Youtube has only one objective, making money for Google. Creators have one objective, views. Simple as.

I discovered a way to never have dealership problems. I don't buy cars from them. Saves satisfying amounts of money too. I buy parts now and then (dealers often have surprisingly reasonable parts prices for minor items) but that's it.

Trucks and SUVs replaced station wagons which back when they were popular in the US mostly used truck engines and transmissions and often weighed MORE than their truck contemporaries (I've scrapped many vehicles which involves weighing them at the yard's truck scale.) The US market always favored as much space as it could afford. Vehicles may change style but as a mechanic I look at what's under the body. Suburban is the SUV version of the same GVW range pickup truck and they've sold well since many years before CAFE standards. While NEW truck buyers tend to use them as butt jewelry subsequent utilitarian buyers who aren't wealthy tend to have very different use cases. Truck use cases change over multiple owners for the same vehicle. Trucks and SUV have more usable space than station wagons let alone sedans and are more comfortable for big and tall operators like self. While most non-commercial users don't use a truck as I do they're always handy and if you can afford the vehicle you can afford to feed it. If you keep vehicles at least twenty years (easy with trucks thanks to their long production runs) the cost per year is not much. Sedan fans should note the PUBLIC rejected sedans in the US and manufacturers exist to sell in volume to profit stockholders. Like manual car gearboxes, if you want one track one down then keep it for life. The longer you own your ride the lower your operation and maintenance costs per year so put in time to get and keep exactly what you want.

I use kittens instead. They're free for the asking, self-cleaning, absorbent and disposable.

'"Fashion" is for mindless consumers who should own their mindlessness. Donation mostly undermines third world indigenous garment makers but donating makes donors feel good. For quality Ebay crushes thrift stores. Travel is a waste of resources and time so the less of that the better.

My multiple half-tons prove otherwise. I also own 1970s trucks and have been a mechanic since that era. Tell us you aren't a mechanic without telling us you aren't a mechanic. Even my 2000 half tons (Chevy and Ford) are more capable than my F250 was in stock trim. Tow ratings have increased as have typical trailer weights while houseboats etc are also quite large.

Make it cheap because financial coercion conquers all. The masses can only be engaged on their terms. They do not care what their moral superiors want. They do care about affordable food. Economics are implacable. If you want to "re-form" someone use their wallet and they'll be grateful you saved them money.

@cideogameguy515 Nor mine and I've driven beaters since I started driving in 1978. Most people are helpless by choice.

If you care what "influencers" say or do you deserve to be ripped off. Adults have no excuse for being fools. Grow TF up and lead a financially responsible life.

Glass bottles becoming "obsolete" for (some) uses after centuries is not "failure" but apparently literacy is not "future proof".
