  2. I find it hilarious someone would limit themselves to buying new as if that made the slightest financials sense vs getting a proven used ride from a rust-free state. There are many ways to buy vehicles.

  3. It's horrible to have no provision for flashing off the vehicle like the older LS computers you can do with a home made bench harness and an OBDX USB adapter.

  4. I've seen far better welds from farmers (including my welding instructorwho was also a pipeliner). Everything about that "repair" was obviously inexcusable trash. We trained students straight off the block and their first day welds looked far better than that. Farmers with sense have built and modded all sorts of equipment using 6011 and an AC transformer machine (the old industrial units from when high OCV AC was much more common have some very nice arcs). At least the owner of that drawbar brought it to a competent repairman.

  5. Can't lose paying scrap price! Thanks for showing what many commercial shops go through. BTW the GoTek floppy to USB adapter is rightly popular (I first saw it in Practical Machinist fora) and connects to the existing floppy header. I installed two on my bros EZ-Trak knee mills which is dead easy. The formatting tool creates multiple virtual floppy drives on a USB fob but he only used one at a time while keeping multiple USB fobs for convenience.

  6. There is no reason repair parts cannot be heavier duty or even different materials. My Dorman aluminum 4.2 intake was properly machined and worked fine. If anything they should make more parts as upgrades to gain sales. The ONLY reason for water pump failures like that is poor design with an inadequate bearing.
