  1. There is no reason repair parts cannot be heavier duty or even different materials. My Dorman aluminum 4.2 intake was properly machined and worked fine. If anything they should make more parts as upgrades to gain sales. The ONLY reason for water pump failures like that is poor design with an inadequate bearing.
