Bend testing is a very good idea because unless you perform destructive testing you do not know if you can weld properly. Open Circuit Voltage is highly relevant to performance and should be measured as part of any welder review, especially machines whose makers are not attached to objective truth. Note the OCV along with performance running low hy rods for informative fun. Comparing the bottom tier inverter machines to bottom tier transformer machines would be interesting. Inverters use much less copper which is a key reason manufacturers like them both for material cost and lower shipping cost due to light weight.
