It is not some Western society with a temporary enemy government. Most people cannot make that distinction because modern social conditioning considers the idea heresy. While Putin will be gone soon his stakeholders can easily install an ultranationalist like Girkin as replacement. Remember the founding mythos of Russia is its curated concept of WWII when Stalin (who is sorely missed by many Russians today) was their hero.
