Non-technical people are functionally illiterate when it comes to understanding how to learn about tech and vet assertions outside their expertise. People were once rightly ashamed to be illiterate. In 2023 they should be ashamed to be tech-illiterate because without basic knowledge of how to selectively learn what you need to, you'll be lost. The worthless US primary education system is no help.
