  1. Science and technology are far too complex for (the vast majority of) non-technical people to begin to understand, and technical intelligence is a matter of luck not choice. Common people need simple beliefs suiting their minimal intelligence. The average IQ (a crude measure but good enough) is roughly 100. Technology and science are TOO COMPLEX FOR LAY PEOPLE TO SORT WHEAT FROM CHAFF. A key mistake many technically intelligent but socially unwise people make is identifying with the majority who can only fear what they can never understand. There is no hope for fixing that situation and trying to is a waste. Give the simples their shiny objects and buy them off with bread (they pay for their own circuses) and stop trying to reach them. They will only regard that as yet another insult. There is nothing to share or discuss. Successful societies rely on wise leadership manipulating simples. Study every successful propagandist, religionist and marketing campaign for proof. Humans set conditions for their engagement which must be obeyed.
