@nimrodszocs2795 "Completely right" from what perspective besides hurt feelings? A single assassination which was not a governmental act is not normally considered casus belli. The choice to war indicates the assassination was more convenience than provocation to war even by the low standards of the era. (I've no ethnic ties to the region thus no dog in the fight.) When nation states choose war there is always both pretext and real motivation, for the simple publics (they're ALL simple) must have emotional stake in the great game.

How did Trianon and its legacy affect current Hungarian fealty to Moscow? Does Viktor Orbán reflect Hungarian public support for Putin and if so what caused such a remarkable turnaround from 1956? Was it resentment at NATO not sending military support (of course an absurd idea given Soviet nuclear weapons)? How successful were Russification policies post-WWII and why?
