  1. Strategy and real national interests contraindicate futile constabulary missions. Constabulary missions are very, very easy to defeat or turn into Pyrrhic victories. That make even trying fundamentally stupid. One's own people are not as valuable as savages who have spent centuries playing hacky-choppy which they prefer to food, sex and oxygen. If they didn't want what their cultural choices get them they'd make different choices. Anyone imagining differently is free to ruck up and put (personal) boots on ground. Africans have agency. They will eventually shake out stable governments in a century or three which is very little time in a historic sense. Any intervention WILL be vilified as neocolonialism and WILL require killing locals who object in combat therefore no sane Westerner wants to intervene. It's not a US problem. Europe made the African mess.
