  2. The NeoSoviets like their Soviet and Tsarist predecessors have a key advantage which is Russian indifference to own-side casualties. They simply don't matter outside of immediate family (easily bought off with the proverbial Lada). Serious wars by Asiatic standards kill tens of thousands in single battles and millions in a year. For example in WWII the KD ratio was about 4.5 to 1 in favor of the Wehrmacht....who lost. Russian leadership are aware of this and dead men don't revolt while wounded depend on the state. Russia was able to casually consign its Afghan wounded to obscurity because no one who matters ever cared nor do they today. If anyone acts up Putin can unleash the ultra-nationalists to quash them. A few tens of thousands impress the West in 2023 but we were once quite lavish with our own people. Much more important is lost equipment and lost expertise as the few Russians with high pre-war experience were heavily attrited early on. While slaying meat is vital the gear they lose forces replacement with older, inferior systems more easily killed. This war doesn't just look like the early Cold War when I was in USAFE, it's starting to look like the 1950s on the Russian side.
