That is a false choice fallacy because the US spends more on privatized health care per capita than successful nations do on their free healthcare programs. Thanks to our wretchedly neglected primary education system it's popular to point at once cost implying that expense prohibits other useful spending. The US ALREADY spends more than enough money on health care but the public don't understand where it goes because details don't interest people who read therefore think at ~8th grade level.

@Nick-vd7cg Vet here and there are more than a few fakes. I expect my fellow veterans to be MORE capable than civilians who never served, but there are many who don't. I help fellow vets appeal their claims (as I did and anyone else can do if they do their homework) so when I encounter supposedly veteran panhandlers I quiz them to filter the obvious then offer to personally drive them to the local VA to engage the system. Not one went for it. I've never had a bad VA experience but I made sure to be fully informed.
