  1. Ignorance is a choice. Failure to learn how the world works is a choice. Wanting to believe in others is not at all admirable because all it does is encourage predation. It is really civic duty to be skeptical, cynical (which is just an insulting name for realism) and trust NO ONE because otherwise "good" people who are the salt of the earth can be dumber than dirt. Scammers pick on people in cognitive decline (which will be ALL of us if we're unfortunate to live that long) so unless you deliberately self-indoctrinate against trust you are asking to get ripped off.
