  3. If any trees can fall on your home, those trees should not exist to endanger you and yours. Many people let trees grow too tall then face major arborist bills because they forget to look up or think their special tree won't take them out. Helene just killed many people due to tree impacts on homes. No tree? No problem which is why I dropped all mine having learned from Hurricane Hugo.

  4. Mark your equipment in a hidden spot with no one else watching, cover the mark with something discreet like a smear of epoxy (falls off when hit with an LP torch). Take CLEAR pics of your equipment when you buy it including every data plate and anything else with a distinctive number. Metal and other objects are ALL slightly different. If you own a trailer worth protecting, cut off the tongue and weld bolt-on flanges in the cuts so you can unbolt the tongue and wheels to take them home! The easy way I block up my trailers is using two steel rims per axle. I copy the pullapart salvage yards and weld two scrap steel rims together with one flat and one vertical. Those can be bolted to your axles or used as I do as stands since my deal is protecting my tires from exposure over time. That way anyone wanting your trailer has to put it on wheels then figure out how to tow it off, and for anyone who doesn't have a rollback etc that's enough azzpain they'll probably go elsewhere.
