Sports fans (real ones) want their team to make a damn profit and if they're a little butthurt they do the grownup (not the entitled mental child) thing and take one for the team. If it were a degenerates-only event it would be celebrated. A gift pass could be a "register to win" deal where the entrants sign up online which permits market surveys and targeted advertising making the team more money at zero fan cost.
