If defenders can employ AT mines (legal under LOAC), RPGs and more advanced AT weapons guided or otherwise, and mortars all those things are easy to move in jungle then use to wear out occupiers. Drones can dispose of any oil infrastructure which is difficult to protect and easily destroyed, especially in scorched earth operations.If India can supply Guyana things could get interesting but it will have to respond immediately before Venezuela cuts off ingress. OTOH there is no international appetite for intervention so if Venezuela wins it may well get away with it. Power abhors a vacuum and Venezuela clearly aspires to dominate the region. It's tempting timing for an Anschluss.
