@SpiritGirlSF All life ends then new life consumes the leftovers. Keeping suffering peoplealive because you are too weak to do your duty is weakness not strength. Wise humans put our last directives in writing so those we assign medical power of attorney are able to fulfill our (no one else matters) specific last wishes. For example my parents, myself and my late wife made complete wills, assigned executors and made our last directives in writing and had them properly notarized so there would be no doubt what we wanted. My parents died peacefully with self and sister attending. My wife died in hospice with me confirming her written directives (neither of us wanted to be hooked to tubes for perhaps years). Duty is not about what we want, it's about honoring what others want and not confusing life with quality of life.
