  1. Buried tanks cannot be properly inspected and are best avoided which is why I don't and would never have one. BTW a portable 500 gallon tank etc can be connected to the house easily enough while awaiting resolution. Propane is a painfully expensive way to heat but useful as backup so that is all I use my one small aboveground tank for, and should I tire of that I can have the company haul it off or even deliver it to them myself as I've a suitable trailer.
