  1. However anti-Europeans many be enamored of Russia it has accumulated too many enemies by being an amazingly bad master over its empires past and present. While non-Europeans have no reason to care if Ukraine reverts to Russian rule for the same reasons they didn't care who died under USSR rule (Afghanistan perhaps excepted) they should note for the sake of accuracy why the Soviet Union imploded and why Russia (contrast it with mainland China under successful CCP rule!) chose to be a kleptocracy and remains so. Russia fans somehow approve of that variety of colonialism but they tend to know little Russian or Eastern European history.
