  1. Egypt lacks power projection to maintain an extended war but Ethiopia has none at all. Blowing the dam would be tough but destroying the power production equipment not so. Ethiopia has no retaliatory military options given the distance between them. That is why detailed discussions of what war might look like are so limited. Egypt cannot invade Ethiopia while Ethiopia can build dams upstream or even divert and disperse much Nile water.
