  1. Good for the workers who won their contract! Holiday season hires are normally laid off. This is SUPPOSED to happen every year because sales volume drops, and now COVID lockdowns are over. There is no magic planet where companies should waste money on workers they don't need and bankrupting the business. Workers need to understand they are hired out of need and need changes seasonally. Fruit pickers don't expect to pick out of season when there is nothing to pick. Most consumer goods purchases are not necessary and UPS EXISTS TO HAUL CONSUMER GOODS. Holiday spending on consumer goods drops off after the holidays. In other news water is wet.
